Looking for external Control Button/Key/Joystick interface
« on: December 06, 2014, 07:49:32 PM »
I am seeking suggestions regarding external control buttons.  That is, an interface that will allow the use of an industrial type button/joystick to trigger Mach hotkeys or macros.  I have located a few posts on the topic, but they seem to be more of how to configure dated systems rather than recommendations on new installs.

Thanks!!!

If industrial it will likely be 24v so the options are not so good for addons as opposed to complete controller.
If however you can convert it to 5v then possibly a PoKeys would be a good option.

Thanks, is PoKeys current stuff?  I have seen it and it seems suitable, however, I have not found a source on the web.  What I do find is discontinued.  Do you have an opinion regarding P.I. Engineering?

PoLabs still seem to be on the go, you will find them here http://poscope.com/
Think also CNC4PC may deal in their stuff if you are in the USA.

Not had any experience with the x keys I am afraid.

Thank you!  That is a site I did not see.  I must have been asleep at the switch.

Their PoBlocks programming software for the PoKeys  looks like it would be excellent , I have never used it as I moved on from the PoKeys before  it became available.
