SCALE PROBLEMS
« on: July 18, 2014, 12:57:30 PM »
Just bought a new T3020 (chinese) machine and configured it according to the manual. Unfortunately it is cutting about double the size of my uploaded design. The scale is on 1.0000 and in inches which is the format I design in. Tried playing around with the axis calibration but to no avail. Broke three bits already because of too deep Z profiling. I need help please.  >:( ???

Hi Marlondave,

Welcome to the forum.

Just take it one step at a time...

In the MDI screen if you Zero the X axis then enter G1 X10 does the axis move exactly 10 units ? (repeat for each axis).
If it does not then your steps per unit are wrong (check forum members documents for how to calculate steps per unit).

Report back on the results then we can move on to the next stage  ;)

Tweakie.
PEACE

Tweakie, I did like you said, but I went straight to the mach 3 manual to check on the axis calibration. After some tweaking (paradox eh?), I've been able to tune the motors to the right steps, velocity and acceleration I think is suitable for my machine. I'm now up and running with big  :) :)

Thanks a lot, Tweakie  ;D
