Direction of move XY in degrees
« on: June 25, 2014, 12:26:15 AM »
Hi all
I have been playing with Mach3 and before I complicate things wondered if there is a command available that gives the current direction of travel in degrees that I can assign to A axis?

Thanx in advance

Can you try and make things a bit clearer as I am not sure what you are asking.

Thank you for the reply, I wiil try and explain.

Lets say the XY move direction of the cutter, for example a knive blade, is in travel direction 90°, then I want to asign axis A = 90°,same goes for if the XY direction change to 180° or if the XY follows an arc I want axis A to always follow the travel direction angle in degrees,  so for example if one move in a circular cut clockwise direction from  90 to 180° that A starts at 180 and follow the curve 181,182,183° etc to end up with angle A=270°?

Have a look at the tangential knife control in Mach, it sounds like what you are after.

Thank you very much, once I had the correct terminology I searched again and found the answers on how to turn this function on, it works 100% to my requirement.
