set up for two different machines
« on: March 08, 2007, 06:01:26 AM »
Hello Everybody!
I’m going to build another CNC machine, and I’d like to control both machines by the same Mach 3 software  . My question, is it possibly easily change set up between two machines? The machines have absolutely different controllers, lead screw, purpose and so on. Can I change set up during start up of Mach 3?
Thank you in advance
Vladimir

Vladimir,
What do you use the two machines for?

If your only running one at a time I would think its very easy. Create a setup for each machine. Load the profile (or XML file) for the machine you intend to run. This is done when you open mach and are promted to select a different profile. Each different XML file in the mach directory will be a different profile you can choose. Hope this helps.

Hello Brett .
I already have 4 axis CNC mill machine and I'm going to build 3 axis CNC PCB engraver. Now I'm using CNC mill for PCB engraving, but due to table restrictions and slow speed of axis I'm looking for another solution. I will use one machine at time.

Hello Ryan. Thank you for reply.
I will try to use different profile during start up procedure.
