I'm trying to configure Mach3 (demo) with my stepper motors

Setup:
4x Nema23 (4,2a)
4x DQ542MA
Wantai motor DB25 Breakout board

I connected it with my PC and I can get the motors runnings. The problem is: they don't run smooth, make allot of noise, and vibrate.
I configured the driver for 2000 steps. And also configured it in the Motor Tuning and Setup configuration.

I connected everything like this (the wiring diagram comes from wantai motors):

sounds like the motor tuning. if all the motors sound same,
then i would say tuning. can't "guess" at it.

Yes, I connected different motors and they all do the same.
I only connected 1 axis at the moment to test.

not sure how to calculate for tuning. read your manual for the motors

Are you set for full step?  Sounds like it.  Set tuning for at least 1/4 microsteps and see how the motors sound.

Hi John,
Microstep resolution goes from 400 to 25.000 if I check my manual.
I configured it to 2000 by using the dip switches on the driver.



Went to Ports and Pins config in Mach:
step pin: 2
dir pin: 3
Dir lowactive enabled
step lowactive enabled
step port 1
dir port 1

Then I went to Tuning and SEtup
Steps per: 2000
Velocity: 60
Acc: 10
Step pulse: 5
Dir pulse: 5

fixed!
