New guy need help and info please
« on: January 07, 2014, 12:21:51 PM »
I want to buy a mini lathe and set it up with mach3 software/hardware so I can make e-cig atomizers kind of like this one below. I am wondering if someone can point me in the direction of what lathe and parts to buy, so I can convert a mini lathe into an automated machine with the mach3 software.

JDA, you do realize that such vaporizers are available from China for about $20 US, don't you?  Kind of makes a hobby investment risky, IMO.

I do realize that china makes knock offs for good price but I belong to a few groups that follw the higher end mods and collect them in an addictive fashion. Im not looking to get rich I am looking to make my own mark on a small group and see where it goes from there. I do really find this stuff interesting and would like to learn to make other hobby parts as well. Thank you for the reply.

Well, good luck to you, JDA.  I am somewhat familiar with vaporizers because a relative is heavily involved, too.  Anything that helps people avoid tobacco use is a plus with me.

You might get some good info here: http://littlemachineshop.com/
