Mach3 port3 no output?
« on: September 23, 2013, 12:00:29 PM »
IS it true that you cannot have outputs if you are using port3?

Smoothstepper port1: G540 with three axis and one slave. port2: 4th axis (A) and pport3: have a C22 connected with a mpg2, this does not work after countless hours trying in mach3.

I did find  config check that says you have outputs on port 3 which is not supported or some similar message.

Thanks,

Bob

If it is an Ethernet SS then you should have no problem using Port3 for outputs. If it is the USB one then Port3 is only inputs.

OK thanks, I dont know why I am having so much difficulty with this simple C22 SS and mpg2. I get no led, no visual indication anything is working with the jog pendant up.

Guess i will keep digging at it.

thanks,

Could well be the C22, does it allow port 3 to have outputs?

Spoke with Autura from cnc4pc earlier and he said it should work no problem.

Easy way to test, remove the C22 from the equation, set up coolant to Port3 pin whatever and then use a volt meter between pin 25 and whatever pin you have set up. Switch the coolant on from Mach by pressing the coolant button. If you get voltage then its working, if not then attach your xml and I will see if I can find an issue in it.

I got the brains loaded and I can see the axis being selected with the brain view, however, the increments are not working right. it moves 2 inches with each click no matter which one I have selected. X1, X10, X100
I have it configure in config/general config as .01, .1, 1 and it still just goes 2 inches.

I reloaded all brains.
