Spindle Speed Issues W/ Mach3
« on: August 29, 2013, 02:54:31 PM »
I am having issues with the spindle speed... I have attached the spindle config image and here are the issues:
1) With the current config spindle does not hardly spin faster than 5K even if it is specified to spin at 10k, 12k, etc.
2) I changed the PWMBase Freq. to 65 and the spindle will spin at about 10-12k but will not change even if specified (like above)

Is the something I am missing or a config change I should make??
(Just to note: we have a 5hp spindle with an 18k RPM max)

Thanks in advance!!

Check to make sure the drive is setup properly for max spindle motor speed.

Check that motor is tuned properly in config/motor tuning/spindle.  Either steps per or velocity needs tweaking.  Also your BOB may be a bit different.  Make sure you are getting full voltage out of your BOB.
