mach2 with max10 cl
« on: February 15, 2007, 01:43:14 PM »
Hi,
We are a school who purchased a Maxnc 10cl in March 05. We run only
XP on our network. I had made the machine operate in dos mode with
it's own software on an old computer which we no longer have.
When I spoke to Maxnc who at that time advertised that the machine
would run under XP. I have to say their attitude leaves something
to be desired. They seem to care less. After my conversations with
them I noticed that they changed their website to reflect that the
product did not run under XP.
So, after some time we learned that the machine would possibly run
with Mach2 software. We have downloaded the software and are in the
process of upgrading to Mach3. But schools move slow, so I want to
get this mmachine running with at least Mach2.
Once the software was installed when we attempted to configure it we
have failed to get the results we are looking for. So at that pooint
I changed the xml file to the Maxnc final that is available on this
site.
In either case my motor runs wild. as soon as the machine is turned
on the motor is on and going full speed. On the diagnostic page the
stop led is flashing. Nothing effects the motor. The reset button
flases and nothing happens when you reset it.
So at this point, where do I go from here.
Thanks

You will be better off starting with Mach3. If you are using the latest XML it is probable Mach3 pacific.

HI, chvet73

Don't even bother with mach 2 it is primarily there for some legacy oem's.

Just go download the latest version of mach3 and start from there. If you are are running the demo version you won't have to worry about anything. If you purchased mach 2 than just copy your licence file from your mach 2 folder into the mach 3 folder and you will be good to go. The licence will work with mach 3 and be fully legit.

Lots of people have switched from Maxnc to mach and we should have no problems getting you up and running.

I ordered the Mach3 but in my school it will be a month at least until the wheels around here get it to me.  Schools move slow.  As soon as I get it I'll post our progress.

You can go and download mach 3 right now. It will run in demo mode and run g code to about 1000 lines of code. When you get the licence you can just drop it into the folder and unlock the 1000 line limit.
