If you are using LPT3 then that would likely be a PCI parallel port, you need to find the address of that port and then enter it into Mach as port 1 address.

If you look at the screenshot below you will see you have port 2 enabled and port 1 disabled.

Yes I know I did that  and enabled port 2
now the emergency switch is OK
I can not still run Road runner.
It runs fine in MACH3 but my machine does not run.

Ok you need to understand a few things.
First is you need to tell Mach the port address that you are connected to.

Second it does not matter what windows calls that port, ie it may call it LPT3 but if you look at the address of that in device manager you can enter that address as port1 in Mach.
Third you need to set all port assignments for inputs and outputs that you are using in Mach to that port.

In your xml you have the E-Stop set to Port 3, you can not have that when using the parallel port with Mach as there are only two possiblt ports, 1 and 2. If you were using an external motion controller rather than the parallel port then port 3 may be valid but you are not.

Have you downloaded and read the manual for your hardware?

I'm still working on getting this thing solved.
As far as I can recall
com 1 / irq4 / 3f8h
com 2 / irq3 / 2f8h
com 3 / irq4 / 2e8h
com 4 / irq3 / 2e8h

So if I'm set to LPT 1
WHERE DOES PORT 1 COME IN ?????
Educate me please
In MACH language is port 1 relating to com1 irq4 3f8h and in MACH
I see it as 0x378
? ???????

Forget about COM ports. COM ports are SERIAL ports. Mach drives axes through LPT ports i.e. PARALLEL ports. Also forget about what numbers windoze calls your LPT ports - it's irrelevant to Mach.

Look in device manager at the resources for your parallel (LPT) port(s). If you have more than one, decide which one you want to use and look at the start of the I/O address range and make a note of that number. Let's assume it's 0378 for example.

Now go to ports and pins. enable port #1 and enter 378 as the port address. Disable port #2.

Now go to motor-outputs tab and set step port and dir port for the axes you're using to 1.

and please fix your keyboard shift-key. Thankyou.

Hello Again
I really need help.
I checked the setting
lpt1 set for port 1
I double checked the set up I got for my system using MACH3
I double checked the set up from Artsoft.
I still can not get the emergency button to stop flashing.
I want to try and run road runner to see if my machine works.

I'm trying to catch up on the lingo.
flipping ? does that mean changing from an X to a check in the box ?
If that is what you are referring to  then yes
