MAYDAY, I NEED HELP
« on: April 05, 2013, 05:58:23 PM »
I am an old timer who has been to the CNC WORKSHOP and lived with MACH3 CNC for years.

My problem just started occuring the other day, and I am tearing out what little hair I have left.

I am probably the guilt party on this problem as the machine was running perfectly until yesterday.

When I started the Machine and computer up yesterday, my problem began. When I hit reference all, the Z and Y axis zero out perfectly.  The X axis is not referencing out and when it does it stops at the limit switch ,AND INDICATES A VALUE X=-0.0219 TRIGGERING A RESET.  If I reset the x limit switch and attempt to reference the X axis it moves to the limit switch and now will show a value X = -0.0439.  If I do it again it will give me a reading of X=-0.0658 or an increase of -0.02195.

I understand that the machine is getting this value from some register, and I cannot figure out the solution.  If any of the hero's out there can help me I would be very appreciative.

What changed?  Did you change anything in the config?  Wireing? Hang any new lights in the shop?  What has been done between the time it was running good and when it started messing up?

To the best of my knowledge I changed no parameters or added anything to my system.

It could be that your switch is acting erratically.
You could try increasing the de-bounce setting by 1000 just to see if it helps.
If it does help, then you might clean, lubricate or replace the dodgy switch.
Is it a woodworking rig ? or ? ? ? ?

Just a guess,
Russ

Thanks Russ, he has a bad switch or connection as you suspected.  Once he gets that sorted, he will be good to go I think.
