PLASMA - "thc on" problem
« on: February 28, 2013, 05:46:58 PM »
I HAVE A THC FROM PROMA ELEKTRONIKA. MACH3 DIAGNOSTICS TAB SHOWS "ARC OK or THC ON signal" IS DETECTED. THE SECUENCE IS (WHITOUT FLOATING HEAD):

(USING PLASMA.SET---THC TURNED ON---INPUT SETTINGS CORRECT)
1.TORCH GOES TO PIERCE HEIGHT.
2.ARC FROM PLASMA PIERCES THE PLATE.
3.THC DETECTS VOLTAGE FROM PLASMA UNIT, ARC OK LED TURNS ON.
4.MACH 3 MUST UNLOCK X,Y MOVEMENTS.
5. IF PLASMA ARC IS LOST X,Y MOVEMENTS SHOULD FREEZE.

THE QUESTION HERE IS, HOW MY CNC MOVES X,Y IF MY PLASMA IS TURNED OFF? IF PLASMA IS OFF HOW CAN SEND ARC OK TO MACH3?

THANKS.

The idea is that the THC mode pauses motion unless there is an arc.  If you want to run the machine without a good arc, just turn off THC mode.

is working now. The problem is that the machine does not stop instantaneously.
