I did this one today for the Brits here.

2 watt laser diode, .006 pixel resolution, 45° angle engraving 75 ipm max.

Sorry, a laser diode does not have enough power to cut wood that thick.  A CO2 laser is required for that.

Very nice John! I watched the video and liked it a lot. Comparing it to a lithophane....... not much of a comparison at all. With the laser you get a lot better speeds, no tool load or wear or dust. This is the slickest way I way seen to machine an image.

But I need to make note that Jeff Woodcock (member JJWMACHINECO) is the inventor and master of laser diode image engraving technology.  Without his spearheading development and his constant experimenting, we would all still be laser engraving images with TTL dithered images, ala CO2 lasers.

PicEngrave Pro Version 4.2.5 now produces gcode for rotary engraving directly from an image - no conversion programs needed.
