Hi. Need help with x axis losing position.
« on: December 21, 2012, 01:25:08 PM »
Hi everybody. I own a Sicono CNC machine, that works well on certain jobs, but when I load a heavy file (usually a finish pass with a very small cutter say, 0.3 mm) sometimes the machine will lose it's x position and start to cut on an erroneous part of the table. This has caused to break a lot of cutters, not to mention all the lost material. May you help me diagnose this situation, to get it straight? I am attaching one file that has showed this behavior.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Giaccomo Alvarez. D.I.

p.d. On the photo attached, you may see the roughing on the right (correct position) and on the left the finishing (shifted to the left).

Can you attach your xml please, I will check the config. Also if you can attach some code that it has happened with that may help.

Hi Hood, Thanks for your help. I 'm in little trouble here. It appears that my machine has 3 different XML's for mach mill. I don't know which one is currently in use. May you tell me how to tell which one is the one?

Thanks again,

Giaccomo Alvarez.

Open Mach and on the main screen  look lower right and you will see the name of the profile you are using, the xml will have that name.

Some of the unscrupulous CNC controller suppliers are shipping their product together with a Pirate Mach3 license.

It is not, in my opinion, unreasonable for Artsoft to incorporate measures within Mach3 to protect their investment against such Piracy - thus the problems giacc is experiencing whilst using a Pirate license.
