D-value in Peck Drilling Cycles
« on: December 13, 2012, 01:13:18 PM »
Hi All,
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to adjust the point where the drill switches from rapid to feed during each peck in a G83 cycle?  It seems the default is 0.01" but I can't find any way to change this.  I saw one other thread where somebody mentioned this but I couldn't find an answer.  I want to decrease this value because I'm drilling through crystalline silicon with a diamond plated bit and my peck depth has to be <0.001" so with  D=.01"  less than 10% of the time is spent actually removing material.  I'd like to speed this up.
thanks!!!   BTW i'm using a TAIG with a DSLS 3000 controller from Microproto.

Look in Config  Ports/pins   Mill options    Look for    G73 pull back

Not really sure if that is what you are lookng for. BUT try it.
