I checked my movement today
in MDI G91G1X10F100
it moves 10 inches the dro says 234.0013
I do X12 it move exactly 2 more inches 12 inches
dro says 304.008

the machine is set-up in mm's
but, it is moving in inches

Sounds like you have Mach in Inch mode (different from native units) You can verify this by looking at the Modal Line, if you see a G20 you are in Inch mode. G21 is metric. This can be changed by code so that is why it is important to havea G20 or G21 in the first line or two of Code to tell Mach that the code is in metric or imperial units.
