limit switch detection mach3
« on: September 19, 2012, 11:55:16 AM »
I am trying to set up mach3 on a simple tabletop 3 axis nc router that is working on mach2.

+ and - limit switches are shared pin with homing  on each axis

I cant get mach 3 to detect the switches.  I started with what I thought was the same setup as Mach2, and tried several variations without success.

Is there something I am missing?  can someone give me a setup checklist?

Thanks Craig

Attach your xml from Mach2 and also the one from Mach3 and I will see if you have them configured correctly.

I was having similar problems. If you haven't already download the Parallel Port monitor from
http://www.geekhideout.com/parmon.shtml. Make sure that the port address corresponds to the right port.
In my case, parmon showed that the limit switch signals and Estop were on address 0x379 while the port settings in Mach3 showed the standard 0x378.
The solution was to enable the secondary port with an address of 0x379 and change the port number in the setup.
