Mach 3 mesaures per unit
« on: March 12, 2012, 05:24:39 AM »
Hi
I have juste maneged to set my CNC working.
I have set the motor pulses ok.
Set native unites in mm
On the automatic setup, i tell the machine to move 10 units and it moves 10mm (i guess that wath it's suposed to do).

I guess that is everithing ok!

When o load a G-code it seams tha mach 3 converts mm into cm, the code that i load is too small.
Is that ok or should i set the pulses soa that the machine moves 1cm per unit?

I would suspect that your steps/unit is not set properly. If you can tell us how your machine is set up (type of stepper motor, type of leadscrew, any belt/gear reduction, type of stepper drive) then someone can help you calculate your steps/unit so you can compare it with what you are using now.
Happy machining , Jeff Birt

Hi
I have this kit:
http://www.aliexpress.com/product-gs/356555486-3-axis-CNC-controller-kit-3-NEMA17-78-oz-in-stepper-motor-3-axis-CNC-board-wholesalers.html

The leadscrew is a M8 bolt.
I have mach 3 set to 2600 steps
What i thinks is unusual is that on the automatic calibration menu is tell the sw to move 10 utins it realy moves 10mm.
