ok to toggle single step on and off while turning??
« on: January 17, 2012, 08:59:19 AM »
Is it acceptable practice to toggle the single step button in middle of a cut?

i have been taking single step cuts until I am happy that all is OK and then I toggle
out of single step while the machine is cutting for the NC to finish the job on auto.

It occurred to me that this may cause some sort of a conflict??

best regards

I toggle the single step when testing a new program and have had no problems.
Also, once "stepped through" I do a dry run for one more test before introducing coolant and stock.

Thanks for your answers-- I have done the following with no problems as yet
click "cycle" click single step"
start cycle
the program cycles through on step at a time when i see it looks ok then click the single steo button and it
changes to auto and continues the while program
seems that nothing goes wrong

sorry about the spelling -
 "click the single step button"
" the whole program"
