Hello everyone

I'm writing from Italy
I'm building my CNC machinery, and I'm supposed to use Mach3 to run it

I would like to run Mach3 on a old Pentium III, 551 MHz, 192 MB RAM. Win XP professional.

Is this PC powerful enough? Do I need to reinstall Windows to have more control about which hidden programs are running or not?
What's best to have: XP or 2000?

The computer is a bit on the slow side but I have run on a P111 450 in the past. With only 192MEG ram I think you would be best using Windows 2000 as XP really needs 256 minimum to be reasonably happy.
 Best idea is to format and install the OS and not anything other than Mach especially with such a borderline computer. You may find that you will only be able to run at 25KHz pulserate.

You confirmed what I was thinking - so I'll format and install W2000 on this PC to start testing the software and machinery, and I'll look for a newer PC in the while
