calibration probems
« on: October 06, 2011, 02:06:14 PM »
We are attempting to repeat the same part located on a fixture using a router and Mach 3. It seems that we are getting "creep" in the "0" location with each run of the program. Is this a program problem or  a setting in Mach 3? Can someone please help?

Most likely you are losing steps, try reducing the Accel; and Velocity by half to test.

This helped some, but we are seeing a change in "z" each time we run our program of about .025". Is there something in the code or in the offsetts in Mach 3 that would cause this?

Still sounds like your missing steps, reduce by 50 % again and see how it goes. Make sure he steps per unit are correct. If it's not an accel or velocity problem have a hard look at the z axis for mechanical problems.

Check tightness of collet holding cutter.
Been there ...
