Constant "E-Stop requested"
« on: July 06, 2011, 06:19:58 PM »
Hello to All
I'm Sorry But I'm having  this problem...in one minute I'm registering two "E-StopRequested". The stranger is that checking the panel, as you can see, the emergency stop is not active!! Is a mystery for me!! I controlled several times  ALL port and pins configuration without any anomalies…It is settled: ports1 pin 15 unchecked all the rest.
Best regards
Mauro

Sounds like electrical noise, try increasing the debounce interval on General Config page

The real solution if it's electrical noise is to find the cause of the noise and remove it.
It's usually a bad ground, or multiple grounds that are the issue, though things like wrapping wires around power lines, or running them too close to the PSU.

Hello ERP and Hood
I agree with you..but I was noticed about this problem just recently. I used this homemade electronic box for one mounth with  another pc without problems. I'm using now also a power stabilizer...I'm intend to modify the wiring of my box using different cable&borns...For the moments ALL ok..I have just to refine the right debounce level. I'm using 2000 now!
Thanks for your helping

Hello ERP and Hood
The debounce level is stable on 250...not bad I believe..don't you?

Personally I prefer to not have any debounce set at all but as you say 250 is minimal so probably not worth looking for unless you find it gets worse through time and you have to increase.

I agree with you Hood...but what can I do for eliminate the "noise"? Maybe using a shielded cable and born like the web plug…as I have seen on a site! What else?
Any suggestion is really welcomed
Thanks in advance..

Shielding (with proper grounding) is always a good thing when talking about  low voltage signal wiring. All of the signal wiring on my machines is 24v and only changed to 5v just before the breakout board although most of mine actually goes all the way at 24v into PLCs, servo drives etc. Adding small capacitors to the Input is also often used by people, all depends on your BOB and other setup.
