odd tool path after opening g code in mach 3

I have made the code in solid cam. It is a pattern of circles tobe cut first then cut out the main shape from the material. Any thoughts?

OK you got me on this one, The code is there to cut something but what(;-) there are a bunch of micro moves inside of tiny circles. Do you have a drawing or picture or rendering as to what it suppose to look like?

Just a thought(;-) TP

OK after blowing up the toolpath real big. the small moves are a JIGGLE to allow the cutter to plunge into the material better.

The "2" circles is because the bottom does NOT go as deep as the material so it thinks it is a circular pocket. SO it cuts the outer radius of the hole then moves in to clean up the center portion. IF you meant for the hole to go all the way thru you might want to check the tool settings verses the material height in the CAM. IF it does cut all the way thru and leaves that little peg in the center floating around it CAN jam up the bit and break it.

Normally for a thru hole it would jiggle down and cut the center first THEN move out o cut the pouter radius of the hole leaving NO loose peg.

Then it moves out to cut the exterior contour in steps.

Sounds like your IJ mode is set wrong. That usually will cause the large circles to be displayed.
