y-axis driven by two motors
« on: May 18, 2011, 11:25:44 AM »
hi there,

i am replacing my current diy router with new electronics and motors. i have one question - my routers y-axis is driven by two stepper motors. i would like to purchase the following set http://cgi.ebay.at/CNC-Kit-4-Achs-Steuerkarte-263-Oz-in-Motor-Netzteil-/130515440262?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_77&hash=item1e63539286#ht_6311wt_1135 which includes a 4-axis controller. how do i connect/setup to get two motors for the y-axis? is this done in mach3 or is it done with the controller?

by the way, does anyone know if this set is good? my current setup includes a simple parallelboard, 4 easydriver stepper controllers and tiny nema17 motors. as the motors donĀ“t have enough power i want to replace them with this kit as is has 4-times the power of my current setup.

i would be glad if someone could help me and wish all you out there a very nice day.

You could send the Y-Axis signals to 2 motors, or you could slave the A-Axis to the Y-Axis.

so does this mean this is setup in mach3?

Yes, you can slave them in Mach3
