Simple, Simple question about home.
« on: April 27, 2011, 04:39:46 PM »
I lost the config to my machine, and I'm recreating it. This is my last challenge:

How can I tell Mach3 to start somewhere other than 0,0? I have limit switches that set home, but I have a fixture mounted an inch or so away, and want it to always start from there. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but the more I play with it, the more frustrated I get, and I'm not getting any closer.

You could set a home off distance in homing and limits or use a fixture offset which would be best I think.

;D If you could see the things I have in my head, you would be laughing too. ;D

My guard dog is not what you need to worry about!

If you want to always start from a certain spot, you'll probably want all your g-code to finish in that spot.

Unless you  are only talking about when you firs home the machine, than use Home Offsets like Brett said.
