Offset arcs
« on: February 14, 2011, 04:53:09 PM »
I have problem in generating offsets when there are both arcs and lines connecting. I am trying to use a 1/32" or 0.04" end mill to do an inside offset. It only creates a very small portion of the offset I intend to make. If I change the rapid position, it creates different offsets.

I don't have an answer for you other than LC just dosen't like that configuration. I have spent enough time foolin with it, have a few ideas that i can try, but frankly........I would just create the offset in cad and then apply whatever machining you want to do to the offset you created in cad .

Thanks for answering. I don't really need them the arc be exact the radii designed. So I have converted the arcs to straight lines and after that, Lazycam can do the job. And I think the machined part should be roughly the same as I previously designed.
