Loaded gcode not right
« on: January 11, 2011, 07:14:54 PM »
My computer died so I downloaded the same version of Mach 3 (ver. 2.63) on a similar but newer computer.  I copied the same xml file to the new computer like I usually do when this happens.  Everything seems ok, I can jog the machine etc.  However,  when I load a gcode file that worked fine on the last computer, it opens in Mach 3 several hundred times larger than it should be and the toolpath display is incorrect.  I've selected inches for units but can't figure what is wrong, though I suspect it's something simple.  Any suggestions.  Thanks.

Have you checked your steps/unit?

Yes the steps/unit are correct.  If I type x1 or y1 into the mdi, it moves 1" like it's supposed to.  It just seems to not be reading the gcode correctly.  A part that is about 47" long is showing that it is 558,000 inches long in the program limits.

It looks like I was mistakenly using an xml from a different machine, I loaded the correct one and all looks good.  Thanks.
