Gerry
not sure what i am doing wrong but its something. I am trying to surface plane my table

1. i ref all home Machine and work all 0.00. no offsets.   Z home is top of travel.
2. i connect my probe to router and run the single zero. Z comes down and touches off (table surface) (my plate is .0641 thick) then raises to 1.125 ( my safe Z setting)
3. then X & Y move to tool change position (same X,Y,Z as whats in the setup manual)so far so good.
4. hit cycle start and X & Y go to fixed plate position (out side of work area and set on 3/4 plywood block, same size plate there too. comes down touches off
5. when it moves back to my starting point and runs the g code the bit is 3/4 of an inch from the surface. this happens with or without the the material ref checked.

is my fixed plate supposed to be lower than my table?
Here is my g code

You MUST run the Initial Auto Zero (button with double arrows) before running g-code with a toolchange. The Initial Auto Zero sets the location of the fixed plate. The Simple Auto Zero you're using is for quick zeroing when you won't need to do a tool change. It doesn't set the locationof the fixed plate.

I already did the double arrow set up on Tuesday and i have cut some pieces,it worked well.  my problem now is i am not using a piece of wood to cut, i want to plane my table flat. so when i do my touch off its on my table surface and not a piece of material. do i have to do the double touch setup every time i change my g code or everytime i start my mach3 program?

You need to do it every time you change the thickness of the material your cutting. The macro needs to know the relationship of the fixed plate to where you're Z zero position is. So anytime your Z zero changes, you need to run the double zero. Basically, any time you would normally zero the Z axis, you should run it. You still need to zero the first tool, but once you do that, all subsequent tool changes are done automatically.

Question:
I have installed the 2010 screenset, and I like it, but if I want to go back to the Mach3 original screenset, how do I acomplish this?

Some things I still like the original screenset. I tried, uninstalling an re-installing Mach and all I get is a white screen.

I was going to try setting up two profiles, one for the new screen and one for the original Mach.

Your guidance would be appreciated.

Just go to View>Load Screens, and choose 1024.set
The only thing that will be different would be the M6 macros. If you're not doing toolchanges, then you'll be fine.

If you need to do toolchanges from the standard 1024 screenset, then you should use two separate profiles, so they each have their own macros.

Hello;

I had to reinstall Mach 3 and all of its settings. I lost the 2010 screenset also. How can I get another copy?

I thought I had it saved on an external drive, but did not save it apparently.

Also, can you tell me how to get the mach 3 screen to fill the monitor? It used too, now it is small.

Thanks

I re sent it to you.

It's not designed to fill the monitor, unless you have a 1024x768 monitor.
It should be run with Auto Screen Enlarge disabled in General Config. If you have a widescreen monitor, there are a few widescreen versions you can load that are bigger.

I purchased Ger's 2010 screenset. It is the best screenset out there.
I am new to cnc and Gerry had the patience to walk me thru my settings.
The cost is $20.00,But the support from Gerry is priceless...
Get this screenset,You wont be sorry.
