Mach e-stops on Program Load
« on: December 09, 2010, 12:11:21 PM »
I am have an issue with mach going into e-stop when I load a long program. I am using the current development version with the machstd screen set. I am also using a smooth stepper. It only seems to happen on the long programs.  Is there something that I should look for that could be triggering the e-stop?

Thanks,
Tom

If the "Use Watchdogs" is set in "General Configuration",  loading or Regen-ing,  can sometimes trip the "Driver watchdog" causing a e-stop... (At least on the laptop I use to cut with)

Interested in the outcome of this one because I had a similar problem with very long programs (in excess of 340,000 lines of code).

Another thing that might help is if you disable the toolpath view.

Thanks for the help. It seems that as long as I have the toolpath view unselected when I load or redrawing, the e-stop won't be triggered. If I have it enabled then the e-stop is triggered. Does anyone know if in Mach 4 if this will be fixed?

Thanks,
Tom

Yes it should be, everything will be in separate modules so problems like this shouldnt happen.
