I am totally new to machining, so this question may appear strange to most of you. What position should my table on my Syil CNC mill be in just after pressing the referencing all button. Maybe the answer is that it all depends.
I am asking because I was having an issue with the jog buttons on the key board and the pop-up jog window was moving the table in the opposite direction. Meaning the ++ button on the window was moving the table on the opposite direction of the arrow on the key board.
After making some changes to correct this behavior the X-Axis not homes the opposite side of the table. On the tool job display window and DRO’S after homing all appear to me to move in the expected direction (well as I think that they should). I have loaded a test G-code file and ran the program in the air just to see if it followed the expected path on the tool job display. It does.
My concern is this; I expected from looking at the tool job screen that my machine would home to the South West corner of the machine table. My machine is currently homing to the South East Corner. From what I can tell the DRO’s all moving in the right direction after the machine is referenced. Meaning + on X and Y, and – on Z. But for some reason I think the X-axis is on the wrong side after being homing.
I hope this all make sense. Any guidance would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Randy
