Anyone using this spindle & tool changer system?
« on: October 30, 2010, 10:45:11 AM »
Searching this forum, I found one reference to this system.

Looks interesting, but read nothing on Mach3 usage.

Anyone have experience with this system?

Thanks for any insight.

I received the following email reply from Midwest Rapid Tool Inc., Including a pdf file. Thought I'd pass it on.

This ATC will work with Mach3.  I have created all the macros and VB
code required.  I also created a screen set to help setup the Tool
Changer and keep track of the Tool Holders and Tool offsets.  I have
included the setup instructions for you to review.
The bundled price includes everything you need to do automatic tool
changes.  This includes a modified Porter Cable 7518 router mounted on
a backplate with an air cylinder, solenoid, and control module, an
eight station tool pallet, and router control module (turns router
on/off as required),  four tool holders (w/collet nuts) and 4 collets
(your choice of size).  The cost for additional tool holders is $55
each.  We are located about 30mi west of Chicago in Batavia, Il.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or comments.

Thanks
