RefAll problems
« on: September 04, 2010, 06:38:08 AM »
Hi All,
I have a small problem with RefAll, Machine was working perfect for some time now but since installing home switches it doeas not ref properly.
Hit RefAll and machine only moves maybe 20mm, hit refAll  again and moves 45mm then hit refAll  again maybe 30mm.. movements are random and never goes to home with one continuios movement.
Any help in this matter would be most welcomed.

You have a noise problem.  Increasing the debounce Interval on General Config page to 2000 will likely help but best to have properly shielded and grounded wires if you dont have so already.

Thanks Hood..

All sorted now, All my motor cables and spindle cable are sheilded and grounded but my home switches are not.I will change these also.

Another RefAll issue but not noise related is what I'm experiencing on my machine:

Details:
Running smoothstepper
slaved X axis (X-A)
24vdc prox sensors running thrue Opto isolation.. fully shielded etc

I when seaching home positions (does Z first then Y and X simultaniously) at its reduced speed, if it faults out on the X axis (ie it gets X limit but not A within specified distance) the machine goes into Estop as it should however the Y axis jumps forward at high speed after X faults.

Is this a buffereing problem in SS or is Mach not handling the Estop correctly?

Done limited testing so far but thought I'd see if anyone else has experienced this first.

Cheers

Mark

Its a SS issue I think, have a look on the warp9 forum and I am sure you will see mention of it.

Thanks for the pointer. Upgrading Mach , SS and moving to MSM screen set so I'll see what other "features" i can create :)
