v3.042.033 still the best for turn?
« on: October 18, 2010, 07:10:44 PM »
Wondering if there is an updated version of mach from v3.042.033 that works with threading (Turn mode). I am also thinking about using Windows 7 on the new computer hardware. Are there any issues or things I must do differently from windows xp? Any reasons why I should stick with xp or does it matter? I will be using a 32 bit version of 7.

I am still using version 033 so other lathe users  will need to confirm that later versions are no problem. ( I don't recall reading any...FWTW)

I guess I will stick with 033 then. Any issues that you are aware of using windows 7 x86?

Hi  there,
I have a small problem that is  probably of my own doing but I can't see how to correct it.I can be cutting gears or any other profile fine for a few days , then for some reason the next time I try to start the Z axis always runs to its  plus max instead of the program clearance say .5"nothing I do will stop it running to max .after messing around for ages it will start to be have itself. But i don't know why.Can anyone suggest what I am overlooking
Thanks

I use XP Pro, and a few friends run W7 32 bit and no problems. You may want to do a search and see if there are any quirks.
Just a personal side note,  ver 033 works fine for me for whatever i do and so does XP. After a while one can get tired of new operating systems
and versions. So if there is something that you need or an advantage to using an updated "whatever" , suite yourself. Just my nickle. ;)
