That could sorta work IF everything you worked on was programmed from the origin as the center of the object. SETUP could be a beast to just do a simple cone. Then you have to make sure that mach can keep the movement in sync as it would require different feedrates to opposing  axis at the same time to keep the wire straight. There in lies a problem

I do not total understand " Functin Cfg menu and select formulas and in the A line put X and in the B line put Y. The AB stage will copy the motion of the XY stage. If you want some other ratio (AB end 3/4 of the XY end  then you would put x*.75 in the A line and y*.75 for B)" but will soon.
 I am not up and running yet, but as soon as I get my motion control board back I will verify if a g-code file manipulated in Excel will still work in Mach3.
