First CNC build becoming addictive.....
« on: March 31, 2013, 06:10:16 AM »
Although I drive up to 5 axis machines I cannot explain why I decided to build a small CNC , but anyway here is my first attempt.
It has now become a little bit of an addiction once it moves for the first time.
I have engraved a few silly bits and cut a few bits of MDF but nothing special other than knowing I amgoing down the right path.
The spindle needs a bit of attention as still setting up Mach3.

Attached is a couple of pics from design to reality.
Its all made from 12.mm Ally plate .
The table comes from a window frame manufacturer , just happens to have handy T-slots.
The spindle air cooled 24000 rpm.

All the electrics from http://www.homanndesigns.com/ with a big thankyou from Peter Homan for all his support.
Also a mate of mine Greg for patiently sorting the electrical side and strangely getting a slight addiction to the job as I too have.

Any comments or observations would be greatly appreciated.
many thanks for reading.
Adrian

Hi Adrian,
That's a very nice piece of work.
Looks like you planned, designed and executed the construction in a very professional manner.
Again ... beautiful work.
Thanks for posting for all to see,
Russ

Very nice, thanks for sharing! Don't worry about it becoming an addiction...........  we have a 12 step program.
1st Design
2nd Make and order parts
3rd Test fit
............... you get the idea.   ;D
