Stepper Motors Overheating

Hi there!
I am using Mach3 to control 4 stepper motors. I am using appropriate power supply and drivers.
Everything is working good, except that motors are overheating when they are on but not in use (waiting for getting movement). Is there something that I should be to modify in Mach3 setup?

Any suggestion in this direction will be appreciated.

If you were your motors would not overheat  ;)

You have a problem with your motors, drivers and/or power supply selection. Mach can do nothing to cause your stepper to overheat.

According to sellers, these are the appropriate drivers.

These are the specs of this system:

- 4 motors NEMA 34: 1317 oz-in, 5.7 V and 3.0 A/phase
- 4 drivers: SD-2H086MB
   Suitable for-2-phase and 4-phase motors
   Output current up to 5.86A
   Dip switch current setting 8different values
   Optically isolated input signals
   Pulse frequency up to 200KHz
   Supply voltage up to +80VDC

- a breakout board

- Power Supply: 220W, 24VDC

Can you advise me on this?

OK, let's start back at the begginning -

1) What current level do you have teh drivers set to?
2) Define what you mean by 'overheating'. What temp are the motors gettign to?
