I want to run 2 spindles and the speed controllers need 0 to +7vdc. So I need 2 pins (I have). I understand the breakout board issues but what do I do in the con-fig section?

More than likely the 0-7Vdc control voltage needs to be isolated. That is it cannot share the same power supply or reference as your Breakout board or PC. If you were to try it more than likely destroy your speed controller, BOB and PC.

A very common solution is to use a DigiSpeed DC-03V3 I sell like the one below. It has an option for an Isolated dc/dc converter that will power the isolated analog control part of the DigiSpeed DC-03. There i also a multi-turn trimpot that allows you to set the maximum output to the 7V that you require.

looks like at least 1 dc02 board. I'm putting 2 motors on a custom spindle housing(bigger better bearings) so is it ok to run both feilds off the same board(dc02) or do i need 2. and will a 5v input suppy give me 7v or do I need a 10v supply?

I think I can use these - 1A-600PIV isolation diodes - Thats what I use now on the manual knob type setup.....

I want to be able to face 4"-4-1/8" square with 1 pass single point, the head stock is mounted on a plate with no z movement. the other is suface grinding with a rotory table and 4 inch wheel at 5000 rpm

i should be able to use one of your boards to drive the kbsi 240d, which drives the 2 motors with a knob.

another question if I use a "tach kit" will/can Mach maintain a set speed?
