Screen Designer under WIN2K?
« on: July 12, 2010, 04:05:34 PM »
I tried to install Screen Designer under Windows 2000, SP4.  The install failed.  I went back to the original description on Klauss' site and it says that Screen Designer is supported on XP, Vista and Windows 7.  Has anyone succeed in running it under WIN2K or am I wasting my time?

Hello astr

are you using Win2000 or Win200Pro? At the moment the current screendesigner runs only on the pro version.

Hi Klaus,

Thanks for the speedy response!  I am running Windows 2000 Pro.  I may have miss stated the problem.  The install goes as expected but when I click on the Screen Designer icon on my desktop, I get the message "C:\Program Files\MachScreen\machscreen.exe is not a valid Win32 application".

Thanks - Andy

Hi Andy,

I must correct my last statement. I upgraded my development system to Visual Studio 2010 and I wasn't aware it's no more supporting Win2000. This means ,from version V1.43 upwards, MachScreen will only run on XP, Vista and Win7. Sorry.

Hi Klaus,

Thanks for the reply.  It's time that I upgraded anyway to something newer than Win2K.
