"RESET" question
« on: February 11, 2010, 04:59:00 PM »
When I open the "Program Run" screen the reset button is flashing. After pushing the reset button, everything stays normal for about 40 seconds and then it automatically goes back in to the "RESET" mode. I don't believe this has ever happened before. Is there some setting I may have inadvertantly changed?

Sounds like you are getting noise problems, is there a message in the ticker window?

The message is " Press Reset Button...Emergency Mode Active".  On the Diagnostics screen, non of the input LEDs are lit.

That means it is your E-Stop that has been seen by Mach, as said likely it is noise. You are unlikely to see the LED on diagnostics page unless the noise is extremely bad as Mach will pick up a signal long before the screen has time to react. Try increasing the Debounce Interval (General Config page) to 2000 and see if that helps, if it does reduce it down to as low as you can get.

I don't recall having this problem when I was running at 25khz. I am currently running at 35khz and my debounce interval is set at 2000. What would you suggest I change it to for a start?

OK if its already set to 2000 then you have issues, can you tell us a bit about the wiring, do you have an E-Stop? Do you have the cable shielded? Do you have limits? and are their  cables shielded?

The remote E-Stop button is shielded. The limits are shielded. The motors are shielded from the driver enclosure up to within 18" of the motor and then the shielding stops. (I had a similar system to this one running at 25 khz without any problems. The only difference was different drivers and stronger motors.)

Hi Charlie,
I had a similar problem. The input  that I used was flakey on the BoB. Moved my E-Stop to a different input and all is well.
Might try it if you have an extra input.
