I know absolutely nothing about servos? I am very familiar with steppers though... I am looking at this motor for $20 us which seems very cheap there is 2 or 3 available. .3hp 5000rpm 24.5 oz/in per amp 736 oz-in max 135 oz-in stall 80v bus. I guess my first question is .... how much is it going to cost to drive this? I looked on e-bay i saw a drive with no power supply for like $130 us. but dont even know if its the right drive? what do i need to drive this? and aprox. how much to make it work? what would be the aprox. conversion in a stepper motor so I have some idea what i am comparing? I thoought servos had constant torque throughout range, yet the stall is 135 and 736 max? whats the deal. I was looking at something to drill and or router with, I realize that is (5000rpm) high for a stepper to get a reasonable torque. any input would be helpful, because I would like to learn more about servos so nothing you tell me is stupid because i know nothing? Is this motor of any use for anything, is It something someone may want, and what is its best use?
