Thanks for the replies guys and especially the link the youtube video....  My machines sounds much like that.... except minus the composition of traditional christmas music.  Is this not an issue?  I hope it is not.

No that is normal for a stepper, can get annoying at times especially when you are used to the silence of a servo, just have to turn the radio up a bit :)
