M.O.V. for suppression
« on: December 15, 2009, 12:12:49 AM »
Hi,
Anyone out there familiar with using an MOV across a coil for suppression ? TVSS
How do you determine the proper one to use ?
24v - 1.5a coil for example.
Googled around a bit but did not see a reference.
Thanks if you can help,
RC
I tried a diode which worked pretty well but would like to learn more about the varistors.

OK..all better.
I decided to use an R-C Snubber/Suppressor circuit with a 0.1 MFD cap and 100 OHM res.
Does a fine job.
Thanks for looking,
RC
