Machine not working after a few months
« on: November 24, 2009, 08:20:03 AM »
Hello,

For my internship with a company in The Netherlands, I haven been asked to improve a 3-axis milling machine that has been standing still for a few months.
Before that time the machine worked effortlessly.

However, I've got a problem. Al the settings that were given in the manual are configured in Mach3, but even the jogging won't work.
I've checked the functioning of the Parallel port which is connected to the interface, if I present the interface with a manually generated signal from programs such as Port-Checker. The Axis do move...

Can anyone help me?

With kind regards,

Check on the Dir pin to Gnd pin for each axis in turn, jog one way it should be high, jog the other it should be low. If you get nothing then check you have the correct port address set.
