Wow, it's been difficult to get my plates machined.  I've noticed that being a small customer, the machine shops are treating you like they are doing you a favor, rather than a regular customer.  It's been over a week and two separate shops have yet to give me a quote.  Do you guys go through this too?  Anybody feel like cutting some 1/2", 3/4" and 5mm and 6mm plates?

Barry what do they look like?  How many?  I've got a friend who just bough a massive 3000 pound CNC Mill.  He might do it.

There's 32 plates total, many are copies.  If you'd like to see, here they are as individual files.  They are fairly simple.  I can't believe it's been so hard to get quotes.

What program did you draw those with?

I modeled all the parts in Rhino and there is an automatic 2D 4-view in the program.  I did overlays in photoshop though, forgive the gothic font.  I do a lot of gothic stuff on the side.

Could they be converted to a DXF file and not loose he scale?

Hmm, I doubt it.  I don't think dxf has a scale in it.  However, the parts I liked to are iges and have a built in scale.  I'm going to cold call a bunch of shops here, and see if I can find somebody that will cut these for me locally.

Where are you located?

I'm in Orange County, CA.  I finally found a shop to make them for me.  The price is fairly good too, yay!
