Scaling issue - sizes are off! Please help.
« on: November 15, 2009, 08:45:24 AM »
Hello! I am new to the CNC world, so please excuse my ignorance if this is a common issue. I am using ArtCamPro and Mach3 in order to mill small parts for engraving, wax carving (jewelry), foam, etc.  I am having a serious problem though, and I can't seem to resolve it.

I have specified INCH units in both ArtCam as well as Mach3, but when the gcode gets to Mach3, the part seems to be scaled down in size quite considerably. I used my digital calipers to see just how off things are. As it turns out, a one inch design in ArtCam equates to a final milling size of .60 inch through Mach3. I have checked all settings in both ArtCam as well as Mach3, but I can't seem to resolve this issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions?? Am I overlooking something???   Thank you all!

Sounds like a settings issue in ArtCam ( i don't use it and know nothing about it ).
Make sure that the scale is "1" next to the DRO's for each axis in Mach.
ArtCAm creates the code and a post processor is preparing it for Mach.
