Mach5
« on: September 01, 2009, 07:36:16 PM »
I have a digital tool machine that i purchased new. It came with digital own software and used Indexer LPT and a Arnhem automation
controller. I am trying to set up the machine using MACH5 software and win 98. My question is the controller comes with 2 printer cables and I used two printer cards with  Indexer LPT one with an address of 3bc and one 278. LPT seems to use separate cards to split the signal for the controller. Mach5 seems to indicate that it uses only the lpt1 or 2 to operate the controller. How or can I use this software to control the machine. I have tried the newer version for windows XP but the same thing seems to be present using only the lpt 1 printer port.

I will say that a friend who was an engineer set the machine up once and I did see it run using Mach5 software. This was 5 or 6 years ago and he is no longer alive. I have no idea how he did it. I might add that he had it running with a notebook pc.

any help would be welcome.

You mean Master 5, not Mach5. Never used Master5, but Mach3 will  let you use 2 printer ports. Not sure why you could only use 1??
