Plasma equipment
« on: August 19, 2009, 08:19:31 AM »
Hello,

I have plasma equipment - there are three 2-phase stepping motors (for X, Y, Z) and three controllers Leadshine M542 stepping driver (http://www.leadshine.com/2-4-54.html) connected to PC via Parallel port (LPT).

For this plasma equipment now I am using CNC Command 'n Cut software (www.trackercnc.com), there are bad software.

Support of Leadshine M542 controller say me, that I can try using your Mach3 software.

Can you provide me information how I can setup Mach3 for plasma equipment, after demo version will successfully then will purchase license.

Thanks.

Start slow and read the documentation.

It is very hard to say all in one topic, normally you should ask a single question about a specific issue then if someone knows the answer, you will get it.
But in general, you can use mach3 to control a plasma unit (I do), so with more or less changes one your machine you will be able to use it.

If that driver is not suitable for step direction signals, you can buy new drivers. They are not so expensive.
