Z axis retract
« on: August 15, 2009, 05:36:21 AM »
I have a small cnc router and after I home 0,0,0  and start a program the z axis retracts to 0.7874 and when the program is finished it retracts to the same 0.7874. This is not a problem until I use a long tool, or thick work piece thern the z axis runs to the end of the screw  and stalls. How do you change the retract value?

It might be Mach3's Safe Z setting, or maybe your CAM program is adding it. Is it in the g-code?

Yes, I found it in the cam program. It was in a setup tab that I never used.
Thank you for the help
