3 Level password "Main Menu" control for OEMs/Customizers
« on: August 04, 2009, 08:30:25 PM »
This is a "3 Level" Password protected Mach Menu "Controller".

There are 3 Levels:
1). Operator level is the default, and you can't really get to the "guts" of mach3 from the main Menu.

2). Maintenance level will open up more of the Menu options for "Field Service" or other "Tech Employees".
On the dialog screen that comes up, there is also a button to goto the Hidden Maintenace screen in mach3
screen sets.

3). OEM level is FULL menu control like normal. On the dialog screen that comes up, there is also a button to
goto the Hidden OEM screen in mach3 screen sets.

The plugin is called: "MachineCfg", the sample screen set that goes with it is: 1024MAD.set  (this has a page 40, and 45).

Once you access the Level 2, or Level 3 password, you have to Close and reopen mach3, when it comes back up, it will come back up in the Menu Level you chose with different sections Grayed out depending on the Level.  The Dialogs that come up when you push the button next to the Password/Level your in can be customized for other control or plug and options to devices.

After 3 Wrong tries at a Password at a level, the system in this sample case, will estop, but Timeouts could be added, or other options.

The "Reset to Operator Level" button is if your just puttin in your passwords to goto screen 40 or 45 but dont want to reboot to a new menu.  the "Set the Menu Change" is the one you press if you do wanna restart in the new menu after entering the correct pass word

NOTE: there is nothing but a Label on page 40 and 45, it is just showing you it can get there.

NOTE2: There are ways to "Get around" some of the stuff, but the plugin was meant for OEMs who are building machines for "Button Pushers", (and to keep the average Monkey out of the Pickle jar). It wont stop someone who knows there way around Mach3 well.

to install: double click on the "MachineCfg.m3p" it will auto install in your plugins directory.
drop the "1024MAD.set" into the mach3 directory:  C:\Mach3
boot up mach, goto View, load screens and load  1024MAD.set
then goto plugin config and enable "MachineCfg" close and reboot mach3.

Just to clarify a few things on its use.

It will default open mach in the "Operator" menu type, unless the time before you had correctly entered the maintenance, or OEM level password.

For instance if you want to change out of Operator mode, to maintenance or OEM level for the next boot to make changes, then:

For Example lets say you want to get to the OEM level menu at the next boot up of mach so you can do mods.

Pick the OEM level Cfg for instance: type in the password "Level3" without the quotes (PW is on the sample dialog btw).

Push the button called: "Enter PW3"

This will launch the OEM dialog screen, this dialog can also have OEM controls for mach3, or external devices. Note the button that says "Go To OEM screen in Mach3" if you push it, you will see the Mach3 screen change to screen 45, there is NOTHING on this screen but a label, it is to just show you, you can get to a "Hidden" screen to do things with OEM screen buttons there.
press OK to exit the OEM dialog.

Now your back on the OEM Config dialog, Press the Button that says:  "Set the Menu Change" (this will set it so that the next time you boot up you will boot into the OEM menu enabled, this works the same for maintenance). you do NOT have to enter you password again since you have already entered it correcty.

The other button called "Reset to Operator Level", is if you just wanted to fool around in the OEM dialog window, OR, goto the OEM screen in Mach3, but on next boot you wanna come back up in Operator level instead of OEM level.

by pushing the Set the Menu Change button, it will exit the plugin dialog. AT this point Close Mach3 and reboot it. when it comes up, the menu will be in OEM level (full access).  Manitenance has its own menu and is less than OEM, but greater access than Operator.
