"ENABLE" function question
« on: May 20, 2009, 12:25:25 PM »
 :)
So the ENABLEs are all hot as long as Mach is on and not in EStop ?      Sort of like a crude Charge Pump ?
If I enable all 6 ENABLEs in ports n' pins, only 1 thru 4 show as ON in diag. page.
Are 5 and 6 not supported ?  In Version R3.042.020.
Thanks,
RC

DO you have enough extra pins/ports to support all 6???

NOPE that is not it it does not work in V.026 either.

***** FOUND IT. You have to turn on all 6 axis for all 6 enables to work(;-)

Just a thought, (;-) TP

TP,
Not using them all, just clearing up my understanding of exactly what the are and their function.
Not very clear in the manuals....to me anyway.
Would have been self explanatory had they been listed as XYZABC being that they are tied to the axis's.
Guess you could use them for whatever you wish as long as the axis is enabled.
Thanks.  Much clearer now,
RC

RC just use one and connect all your drives to it, you need a relay anyway as your drives inputs are 24v.

Hood,
That's what I was planning to do, as is suggested in the manual also.
That's about ALL it says in the manual about the ENABLE though.
Was just wondering why all 6 would not work.
You know me...Pick it to pieces. lol
Thanks,
RC
